I’m Tyler Brewer, a California family law paralegal and registered Legal Document Assistant with more than 17 years of experience in the legal field. My work has focused heavily on family law, helping attorneys and self-represented individuals navigate the paperwork, procedures, deadlines, and often overwhelming administrative side of California family court matters.
Throughout my career, I have worked on a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, legal separation, child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, parentage, requests for order, domestic violence restraining orders, marital settlement agreements, and post-judgment matters. I have extensive experience preparing California Judicial Council forms, pleadings, declarations, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents, as well as managing filings, service requirements, calendaring, and case deadlines.
Today, I own By The People Inc and operate Pro Se Legal Docs, where I provide legal document preparation services for people who choose to represent themselves. I am a Registered and Bonded Legal Document Assistant in Kern County, California (LDA #237).
My approach is built around accuracy, organization, professionalism, and respect. Family law matters are deeply personal, and I understand that clients are often dealing with major changes in their families, finances, and everyday lives. My goal is to make the document preparation process as clear, efficient, and manageable as possible while staying firmly within the role California law establishes for Legal Document Assistants.
In addition to family law, my professional background includes estate planning, probate, civil matters, evictions, name changes, business documents, and other areas of legal document preparation. I am experienced with California court procedures, electronic filing systems, case management, document organization, and working with courts throughout the state.
I am not an attorney and do not provide legal advice, select legal forms for clients, or represent anyone in court. As a Legal Document Assistant, I prepare legal documents at the specific direction of the individuals I serve.
